Ella, Sri Lanka (Photos)
Theres a place deep in mountains of Sri Lanka. A place that is peaceful and beautiful. A place that I could have easily stayed at for a while. A place that reminded me of home and that place is called Ella.
A bustling little town, with cute little restaurants and amazing hikes through tea plantations that line the valleys with misty lush green landscapes. Although tourism has picked up here, I find it still has a lot of charm.
Life in Ella is so relaxed and everything that you would imagine from a small mountain town. The people are so kind, from the lady that we stayed with in our home stay, to the lovely lady and her daughter selling handmade souvenirs, the man who opened up his restaurant to feed us at 1am in the morning and the man with his cow in the tea plantations. I was overwhelmed by how heart warming the people were in Ella.
When they say that Sri Lanka is paradise on earth they are not wrong. Everywhere you go there’s either glistening white beaches or luscious green mountains.
